The house is located near the beach (2 minutes walking) the fishing village, The Canopy Tour Mal País, a soccer field and food and grocery and liquor Store all within walking distance.

Good to know

Casa Dorado located in Playa de Pesca resort with 3 bedrooms 2 of those with private bathrooms and balcony. The house has AC and fast internet of 100 mbs. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, gas stove with oven, coffee maker, toast and kitchen utensils (such as plates, glasses, knifes, spoons and forks and among other things) The house has a washing machine and dryer. It has a comfortable living room and sofa bed in case of additional guest. The house is set back on the property and has a jungle feel with lots of wildlife. The beach is 25 meters from the property entrance. Walking distance from the property Mal Pais has a grocery store, Cafe/bakery, restaurant Tierra Mar and Pizzeria. From the property you can walk to the beach, Cabo Blanco reserve, Snorkling, Fishing and SUP paddle boarding. We also have ocean kayaks available.

We’ve loved our month long stay at Casa Dorado and are sad to leave. We enjoyed being in such tranquil surroundings but able to dip in and out of the busy activity of nearby Santa Teresa. The house is well equipped with plenty of space. The 2 main bedrooms are fabulous! We especially enjoyed using the pool and going on daily beach walks each day. I set my yoga mat up on the upstairs terrace and enjoyed the visiting wildlife whilst stretching. A perfect place to relax and unwind and we’d love to return again. Many thanks!

My husband and I recently stayed at Joe's place in Malpais, and I can't say enough good things about it! Joe the host, was fantastic and made us feel right at home. The ranchero was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook our fresh caught fish from a local charter. It was a special treat to enjoy Joe's culinary skills that showcased the local flavors while sharing good stories and laughter in the company of his friends and other guests. The tropical landscaping and pool area are absolutely stunning and even more so at night. One of the best surprises was the two adorable dogs and a cat who added so much charm to our stay. They loved to hang out with us and greet us every day. The location couldn't have been better with the evening sounds of the ocean waves, morning wake up calls from the howlers and the occasional balcony visits of the local white faced monkeys. If you're looking for a cozy place in a beautiful area, I highly recommend this spot! We WILL be back!!!

We stayed for one 1 month at Joe's place and what can I say, it was awesome. Joe himself is very kind, responsive and super chilled. He even made food for us and invited us to hang out with his friends and come to party. The hospitality was incredible. The place itself was beautiful. It is the middle of the jungle, surrounded by fruit trees, palm trees and cool animals. Very private as well. In the middle is a pool and a community place where people come together and hang out. I loved the kitchen at our house, the big fridge, the balcony and everything else. I also had a special request about synthetic fragrances where Joe made sure they avoid it before I come and I’m really thankful for that. The beach is right in front of the house, a little grocery store 5min walk and Santa Teresa is like 5min by car. The people in Costa Rica are also very friendly and kind. I can highly recommend staying at Joe's place. Thank you Joe!!

This was our second trip to Playa de Pesca Resort and obviously if we did not like it to the first time we would not have come back. The property is very lush with native plants and animals. The sides of the duplexes have great natural light but are still private. Make sure you ask Joe to make you some pizza as he has the best around! Great guy who is generous and helpful and keeps a great place to relax and unwind.

We felt so lucky to with Joe and his dog Macho in Mal Pais. We loved the unit, super comfortable for 5 adults. The kitchen facilties worked well including fresh tuna from the fisherman at the end of the driveway. Joe's pizza is rockstar at the communal bar area next to the pool. The property was lush including many birds & monkies. We drove to nearby Santa Theresa for surfing and groceries and walked to "Secret" Beach for swimming and snorkeling. A small store, brew pub and pizza place are also in walking distance

We had the best time staying at the house, which is beautiful yet functional. The beds and linens were very comfortable and there was everything you need at the house. The pool was spectacular and the layout of everything was fab! Joseph was an amazing host and even gave us some freshly caught tuna to try. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Wir hatten eine grandiose Zeit in einen von Josephs schönen Häusern. Alles bestens, sauber, hübscher Garten inkl. supersauberem Pool. Wir kommen gerne jeder Zeit wieder. Diese herrliche Unterkunft wird auch durch die Anwesenheit von Javier, der sich um alles kümmert, bereichert! Javier ist Mega- er ist sehr hilfsbereit, freundlich, sympathisch und angenehm im Umgang! Selten einen so herzlichen Empfang erlebt! Muchos gracias!😀
